O cenário atual de crise climática tem atraído uma atenção cada vez maior no ambiente acadêmico e em pesquisas de diversas disciplinas. A complexidade do fenômeno climático se deve à interseção de fatores biológicos, sociais, políticos e científicos e, dentro desse contexto, os seres humanos desempenham um papel crucial, tanto como agentes que contribuem para as mudanças climáticas quanto como vítimas das suas consequências presentes e futuras. Nesse sentido, com origem vinculada às questões de gênero, a teoria da interseccionalidade trabalha com as vulnerabilidades das mulheres e, dentro dessa perspectiva, acredita-se ser possível o emprego da lente interseccional para o exame da situação das mulheres frente às mudanças climáticas, uma vez que essas se encontram dentro dos grupos tidos como mais vulneráveis a tal fenômeno. Assim, a presente dissertação explora o viés interseccional, aplicando-o à análise do gênero e às mudanças climáticas para, a partir disso, identificar as principais vulnerabilidades das mulheres e, então, permitir uma análise sobre como alcançar a justiça climática. A abordagem proposta tem caráter qualitativo e, como técnicas, foram utilizadas principalmente a pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, através da análise de publicações internacionais relacionadas ao tema, especialmente vinculadas à Organização das Nações Unidas – ONU e ao Painel Intergovernamental sobre Mudanças Climáticas – IPCC, publicados no período entre 2007 e 2023. O método utilizado foi o dedutivo. Como resultados, assimilou-se o contexto social das vulnerabilidades das mulheres frente às mudanças climáticas, apontando que a teoria interseccional pode, a partir da identificação das possíveis vulnerabilidades, servir de base para a propositura de soluções para mitigação dos efeitos ambientais que acometem as mulheres, alcançando, assim, justiça no âmbito climático.
The current scenario of climate crisis has been attracting increasing attention in the academic environment and in research across various disciplines. The complexity of the climate phenomenon is due to the intersection of biological, social, political, and scientific factors, and within this context, humans play a crucial role, both as agents contributing to climate change and as victims of its present and future consequences. In this regard, with its roots in gender-related issues, the theory of intersectionality addresses the vulnerabilities of women. From this perspective, it is believed that the application of an intersectional lens can be employed to examine the situation of women in the face of climate change, as they are considered one of the more vulnerable groups to such a phenomenon. Thus, this dissertation explores the intersectional bias, applying it to the analysis of gender and climate change to identify the primary vulnerabilities of women and, consequently, enable an analysis of how to achieve climate justice. The proposed approach is qualitative in nature, and the primary research techniques employed were literature reviews and documentary research, involving the analysis of international publications related to the subject, particularly those linked to the United Nations and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), published between 2007 and 2023. The deductive method was used. As a result, the social context of women's vulnerabilities to climate change was assimilated, indicating that the intersectional theory can, through the identification of potential vulnerabilities, serve as a basis for proposing solutions to mitigate the environmental effects affecting women, thus achieving justice in the climate context.
