Colon and rectal cancer is identified as the most common tumor in the southern region of Brazil, and this condition affects men and women, most of them over the age of 50, however, worldwide the number of cases in the older population is increasing. young. Objective: To describe the epidemiological profile of patients diagnosed with colorectal cancer in the Vale do Taquari Region. Methodological procedures: The nature of the research is quantitative, descriptive and retrospective exploratory. The medical records were analyzed, via the Tasy system, of men and women over 18 years old, with a histologically proven colorectal cancer (CRC) diagnosis from January 2017 to December 2021, SUS users, treated at the Hospital's Oncology Center Bruno Born (COBB). The data were tabulated in Excel spreadsheets and the results were analyzed using the Jamovi 2.3.21 software. Results: CRC is more common in men, in their sixties, white, married and with little schooling. The majority of the sample had comorbidities and was using medication continuously. Adenocarcinoma was the most prevalent histological type in the rectal region. The adjuvant therapeutic approach was the most used. The death rate in the studied population was 17.9%. Conclusion: The research highlighted the sociodemographic profile, lifestyle habits, presence of risk factors, diagnosis and therapy established for cases of colorectal cancer treated at the Oncology reference service in the Vale do Taquari region.
