The economic importance of Civil Construction in Brazil has increased the development of technological tools that can improve the accuracy of structural projects, such as the TQS software, used to size foundations. With this in mind, this study aimed to analyze and compare the sizing of the foundations of a building considering two projects, one reinforced concrete structure and the other structural masonry. The research was conducted based on two projects of the same seven-story building, located in Lajeado/RS, using reinforced concrete and structural masonry. The TQS software was used to size footing-type foundations, while the SINAPI system assisted in the cost analysis. Load and dimension data were manually calculated in Excel spreadsheets and entered into the software to verify the accuracy of the results. The results showed significant differences in material consumption between the two structural typologies. Reinforced concrete required more concrete and steel due to the concentration of loads on the pillars, while structural masonry distributed the loads better, resulting in lower concrete consumption. Comparing the costs, the reinforced concrete foundations were 13.84% more expensive than structural masonry. The comparative analysis showed that, although reinforced concrete offers greater resistance, structural masonry has economic advantages due to lower material consumption. The integration between the TQS and SINAPI software proved to be effective in increasing the accuracy of the calculations, allowing for more assertive and safe modeling. It can be concluded that the choice between reinforced concrete and structural masonry depends on the specificities of the project and the priorities regarding the cost and durability of the work.
