A gestação não é apenas um processo físico, mas também uma jornada emocional e psicológica intensa para as mulheres. A preparação para a maternidade envolve o desenvolvimento do instinto maternal e é influenciada por fatores como suporte social, familiar e o contexto psicológico da gestante. O presente estudo se dedica ao tema da fotografia gestacional, para isso foi necessário entender os desafios emocionais da maternidade, durante os diferentes estágios da gestação. A pesquisa apresenta dados sobre a maternidade e explora a representação dessa etapa na vida, de algumas mulheres, na história da arte, destacando como artistas internacionais e nacionais ao longo dos séculos retratam a figura da gestante; a pesquisa também apresenta uma revisão de literatura sobre a história da fotografia com enfoque na fotografia gestacional. Em complemento a revisão de literatura, com a intenção de entender as motivações e experiências relacionadas aos ensaios fotográficos gestacionais, foi feito um levantamento de dados com profissionais da fotografia, que desenvolvem o seu trabalho com gestantes, e também com gestantes que já realizaram e que pretendem realizar seus ensaios fotográficos. A coleta de dados ocorreu por meio de questionários físicos e online.
Pregnancy is not only a physical process, but also an intense emotional and psychological journey for women. Preparing for motherhood involves the development of the maternal instinct and is influenced by factors such as social and family support and the psychological context of the pregnant woman. This study is dedicated to the topic of gestational photography, and to this end it was necessary to understand the emotional challenges of motherhood during the different stages of pregnancy. The research presents data on motherhood and explores the representation of this stage in the lives of some women in the history of art, highlighting how international and national artists over the centuries have portrayed the figure of the pregnant woman; the research also presents a literature review on the history of photography with a focus on gestational photography. In addition to the literature review, with the intention of understanding the motivations and experiences related to gestational photo shoots, data was collected from photography professionals who work with pregnant women, as well as from pregnant women who have already undergone and intend to undergo photo shoots. Data was collected using physical and online questionnaires.
