A presente dissertação propõe-se a investigar o seguinte: Como os professores de Educação Física da rede municipal de Lajeado/RS percebem a modalidade de basquetebol nas suas práticas de ensino? O objetivo geral é compreender as possibilidades de desenvolvimento da modalidade basquetebol nas aulas de Educação Física nas escolas da rede municipal de ensino de Lajeado/RS. Como objetivos específicos, destacam-se: contextualizar o basquetebol escolar na rede municipal de ensino de Lajeado/RS; conhecer as concepções e práticas dos professores de Educação Física dos 6o e 7o anos do Ensino Fundamental das escolas municipais de Lajeado/RS em relação às aulas de basquetebol; e identificar as percepções dos professores sobre os alunos, quanto à participação nas aulas de basquetebol. A metodologia utilizada foi de caráter qualitativo e descritivo. Foram realizadas seis entrevistas semiestruturadas (NEGRINE,1999) com professores de Educação Física, além de análise de documentos (MOLINA NETO,1999) pertinentes ao trabalho do professor, tais como Projeto Político Pedagógico das escolas envolvidas neste projeto de pesquisa e o plano de ensino dessa disciplina. Na análise das informações, foi utilizado o método denominado de triangulação (TRIVINÕS,1987). A partir dos resultados, verificou-se que, na rede municipal de Lajeado, o conteúdo basquetebol está presente nas aulas de Educação Física do 6o e do 7o ano e que a participação do professor no planejamento dessa disciplina e no engajamento da construção do PPP da escola é bastante destacada. Na ótica dos professores, os alunos são receptivos e mostram interesse pela prática de basquetebol, o que está em consonância com os projetos sociais desenvolvidos no município. Os professores atribuem um significado muito positivo às possibilidades pedagógicas que o ensino do basquetebol propicia, ressaltando que a prática do basquetebol na escola vai além dos aspectos metodológicos e técnicos: possibilita também a integração dos envolvidos e se apresenta centrada numa proposta pedagógica que vise à formação integral dos estudantes.
This thesis question: how do physical education teachers from municipal schools in Lajeado / RS perceive basketball in their teaching practices? The overall objective is to understand the possibilities for the development of basketball played in physical education classes in the municipal school network in Lajeado / RS. Six semi-structured interviews were conducted (NEGRINE,1999) with physical education teachers, as well as document analysis (MOLINA NETO, 1999) pertaining to the work of the teacher, such as school political educational plans (PPP) and physical education teaching plans. The triangulation method was used for the analysis of the information. (TRIVINÕS, 1987). From the results, we found that in the network of municipal schools in Lajeado /RS, basketball content is present in year 6 and 7 physical education classes and the teacher is quite heavily involved in the planning of physical education, as well as the construction of the school PPP. From the teachers’ point of view, students are receptive and show interest in playing basketball, which is consistent with the social projects developed in the municipal. Teachers attribute a very positive meaning to the educational possibilities that teaching basketball provides, pointing out that the practice of basketball in school must go beyond the methodological and technical aspects: also enable the integration of those involved and focus on an educational proposal for the comprehensive training of the students.
