Univates participates in educational mission in Canada
The University of Vale do Taquari, through the International Relations Office (DRI), was one of the 14 higher education institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean selected to participate in the Emerging Leaders in the Americas - Collaboration Mission, a mission sponsored by the government of Canada to present some of the country's universities. The mission members also participated in a conference on higher education at the Canadian Bureau for International Education in Ottawa.
DRI Director Viviane Bischoff explains that the opportunity gave Univates an in-depth knowledge of the Canadian teaching model, besides prospecting partnerships.
“It was also an extremely opportune time to exchange experiences with such distinct institutions, with similarities and differences that complement each other. The Canadian government's greatest interest was to promote discussion and approximation to carry out joint research in the areas of agriculture and water treatment”, Viviane Bischoff.
During the mission 12 educational institutions were visited, they are located in Toronto, Moncton, Montreal and Ottawa. In addition to Univates, representatives from universities from Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Barbados and Guyana participated. Viviane adds that the mission participants were selected through a specific public notice, and all expenses were funded by the Canadian government.
