As UNIVATES is going through an internationalisation process, we are glad to announce that in 2016, two new disciplines will be available in a foreign language. Philosophy and Ethics (Professor João Miguel Back) will be available in German and Sociology and Anthropology (Professor Margarita Gaviria Mejía) will be available in Spanish. This is a result of a pioneering initiative by The Department of Humanities and the Centre for Social and Human Sciences.
According to the coordinator of the Department of Humanities professor Daniel Granada, by giving our students the opportunity of studying Philosophy and Ethics in German we hope to equip them with a deeper theoretical knowledge of classical philosophy in the greatest philosophers’ mother tongue and, in addition, we expect to keep the local Germanic identity alive. “Students who can speak or understand German are welcome to attend these classes” – Granada says.
Some disciplines will also br available in English, such as “Environment and Health Issues” (Professor Ivan Cunha and Professor Walter Beys da Silva), aimed at Biology and Health students; and Entrepreneurship (Professor Eloni Salvi), aimed at Management Students.
The disciplines for undergraduate and graduate courses for 2016 are available on Universo Univates. Enrolment begins at 6:00 am on the 3rd of November. For more information, please contact us on 0800 7 07 08 09.
