A pesquisa é do tipo quali-quantitativa.
The spread of neglected diseases is directly linked to precarious living conditions in which live a large share of people as well as the inefficiency of public managers in the public policies implementation to combat them. In Roraima, due to the conditions of accelerated and concentrated development in a short period of time, combined with a model of exploratation of forest resources, these diseases have found fertile ground to get spread. This study was focused to understand, from the Health Geography, the neglected diseases occurrence and distribution in Roraima and the State possibilities to achieve the control goals set by the UN for 2015. Therefore, the selected diseases were malaria, tuberculosis, dengue and HIV / AIDS. It was used the secondary data sources from the Ministry of Health and the Roraima State Government, enabling the grouping of information through charts, tables and thematic maps that express the reality found in all municipalities in the period studied, related to socio-economic and structural aspects in addition to physiographic diversity among municipalities. . The research is qualitative and quantitative type. In this scenario, based on the data analysis, it was observed that, there are great disparities in living conditions between the 15 municipalities that compose the State of Roraima. It was identified that the socioeconomic aspects compromise the effectiveness of State and municipalities actions to combat and control of vectors of disease, as well as the irregularity in the distribution of professionals by territory, associated with precarious conditions diagnostics, difficulting develop joint actions aimed at better care in the primary care network, compromising the care in the hospitals of medium and high complexity in the capital of state. Thus, despite the reports from MDG portal indicate that Roraima will reach the goals set for malaria, tuberculosis and AIDS, only dengue will be below the targets. The study draws attention to the spread of AIDS in the state.
